so... locks atm. dont even know where to begin. to put it out there, this is a whine pvp wise, i dont care much about pve, so i can only tell from a pvp perspective.
all locks do for pvp is stack stamina and resilience, having about 14-15k hp and 400+ resilience, wich is fine if you're gonna tank karazhan, but in pvp its just wrong that a clothie has the most hp of them all, while still maintaning very decent damage from dots, not to mention the ever so popular sl/sl spec (gonna get to that later) wich just makes them outlast almost anything, and out heal themselfes for more than many classes can put out dps. problem? yes! why? its oky that they can heal i guess, but they are killing you meanwhile, and sometimes hitting them is like doing nothing... their hp goes nowhere but up. doesnt count for rogues tho.
the spec, sl/sl, is a hybrid spec. oky fine, all is allowed in love and war right, but blizzard told us rogues that HARP (0/31/30) got changed, cuz it was a hybrid spec, and everyone was speccing it. so how are the locks diffrent? more than 90% of them is sl/sl, they are using hybrids specs... almost all of them, but nothing is beeing changed there, and noting is going to change afaik.
then there are pets. ooo yes, the pets. comparing warlocks pets to hunters pets... its no contest at all. lock pet all the way, but not all of them, just that felhunter. i wonder why locks even have so many pets, when all they need is a felhunter; stealth detection, dispelling, extra dmg, and one of the worst things of all... the 10 sec silence they can produce. 10!!! thats a life time for a mage if hes against a lock in arena. no other class can make it last that long; rogues, warriors, and mages all have 4 sec school lock downs, mages get 4 sec silence if they spec for it, rogues get 2 sec if they spec for it, not sure about warriors. but 10 off a warlock? please, are you serious?
the last thing that comes to mind atm, is fear. supposebly a chance on breaking with dots (like that ever happens), it has no cd, and you're at about 25% when the fear goes down. then what happens? you get feared again and again, resulting in your death. fear needs a CD, thats a 100% fact. you could quote me with sheep or cyclone, but sheep heals you remeber and its used defensive most of the time, cyclone also has no cd, but makes you immune to everything. but with fear... you die. you can also say... what about stun lock, since im a rogue. well... every lock survives the 10 sec stun due to their stamina stacking and rediculous talent positionings and it only lasts 10 seconds, while the fear is 17 seconds and then they usually send a death coil your way, or at the start of it.
so to summerise; talents allow stacking of stamina and resilience while still having great dmg, hybrid spec, OP felhunter, no CD on fear, wich could be something like 20 sec, wouldnt change anything in pve, and it would be more balanced.
