Max amt of characters for account?

I just tried to create a new character, and got a message saying "You have already created the maximum number of characters allowed on your account" or something close to that.

Is that new?

50!

10 per realm, 50 per account. If you do delete one to make room I believe you have to log out and back in before you can create more, or you'll just see the same error that you're all full up.
