So I'm wondering why has Blizzard banned the name of one of my favorite artists from World of Warcraft?

Please try and type "Bukowski" either in guild or say or w/e...

I do apologize if this is impeding upon your ability to host discussions of underground American poets of the 20th century in game, Lisette. I'm currently looking into the reason for this name being filtered and will get back to you as soon as possible. : )

for much the same reason that you can snicker on the forums, but s**%@#*ing (a perfectly respectable word, thank you - predates the slur by a century or two) is right out. Not to mention eating the delicious fruit known as the g@*@*.

the offending series of letters in this case is (or was, a year back - don't know if they're still around) a goldselling company that was sufficiently obnoxious that Blizz censored its name.

I'll probably get in trouble if I mention the name, but "talbuk owns" and "bukowski" both encapsulate the four letters that used to designate that goldseller, and that's why they're censored by the in-game filter.

Gerd is correct here. I do not know that using particular letters found in the word "Bukowski" in a particular sequence will be possible in-game any time soon. I'm sorry Lisette. = \
