I started playing long after TBC released, so I dunno how long it took for there to be the first lvel 70.

So, how long, from the release date of Wotlk, do you think it will take for WoW to have its first level 80 character?

I say a week or so.

There will inevitably be a rush for players to hit the level cap as soon as it is raised. I suggest to the good majority of you, though, that you really focus on the content rather than the level cap. I suspect something beyond the prospect of having a level 60 character compelled most players to continue playing World of Warcraft after it was first released. Likewise, in Northrend you'll see some sights you've never seen in the game before, face creatures you've never before faced, and embark on a host of very new and unique quests to do your part in curbing the vast reaches of the Lich King and his minions.

Sure, the ultimate result of your exploration and questing will come when you hit the level cap. There will be plenty of things to do when you hit 80, but the lands of Northrend really require your full attention.

unless you played beta

Oh, hi there. I want you to look into this little red eye here. It will isolate the electronic impulses in your brain, more specifically the ones for memory.

There will be a rush of people alright, a rush of people rushing to get the server first titles.

That no longer exist...

Psht. As if that will stop any of us!

I'm sure I'll wind up giving you a title, Moby. It may not show up in game, but it'll be etched into my psyche.
