Are Death Knights Fun to Play?

Just a simple question to those of you who have been in beta for awhile. Is the DK actually a fun class to play? What do you enjoy most about the class? How does it compare to your current main?

I ask because I've played a shadow priest for about 2 years. (Raid-oriented DPS) Though I'm glad they're buffing shadow priest damage in WotLK, it looks like the class is going to play essentially the same, with a couple nice situational gimmicks (Dispersion, Mind Sear). Frankly, I feel like change of pace, so I was considering making my new main a Death Knight.

What do you think?

I've enjoyed my time playing one, but like all classes, it depends on what you want most out of your playtime and what you personally enjoy in a class type.

Q u o t e:

Just wondering, is this a cause of any concern for the developers? I know a few classes also feel this way, but I also know a lot of priests in beta definitely feel this way. Mechanic changes are fine I guess, but if nothing really *new* is added to the class, is there concern that with a new class like the DK that too many will decide to hang it up and go for a DK, severely compromising the game? I get that it's not necessarily a bad idea to help tank shortages since DKs can tank, but another role like healing, is there any concern that this will create a healing shortage in WotLK from frustrated players that have felt their complaints have gone ignored for years?

I still believe many people will level up their existing characters before even trying a death knight or playing a death knight for any serious amount of time because they will either not be interested in a death knight or want to wait until the initial 'rush' of death knights has passed. Any shortages that may occur will most likely be short lived as people work out what they want to play most, possibly switch classes (to a healing class) to fill gaps, or decide they're going to stick with their healing class after all and continue to work those up. Only time and live play will tell, though all classes are receiving ongoing balancing of their trees to make them as fun and interesting as possible for the expansion.

Not everyone is going to find the death knight to be their cup of tea so to speak.
