Since its mid day would a CM please shine light for those of us who think that PvE is going to be phased out In favor of arenas. There are those of us who don't like to compete for top 1% of the pvp slot and would rather have PvE progression for our characters.

There are many people who enjoy the PvE aspect of this game, However getting a response to the ever incrasing PvP vs PvE debates seems impossible. I would like to know blizzards official stance on endgame, pve vs pvp and character progression.

If its possible to get it in pvp then it should be possible to get it in PvE

We are going to continue to develop both PvP and PvE content. PvE isn't being phased out for Arenas.

These sorts of debates between PvP and PvE are inevitable given the nature of trying to balance two aspects of the game that some people feel conflict with each other. Some people don't care for PvP and some don't care for PvE but the availability of both is still there for everyone.

We try to cater gear for PvP or PvE as we feel is most beneficial as well. While there are some pieces of gear that people may find in PvE encounters that are viable for PvP, we don't want to make it so that people that don't wish to PvE don't have to do it in order to be competitive. We want to continue to make it beneficial for people to do what they enjoy (either PvP or PvE) in order to get the gear they want/need to continue enjoying themselves and being competitive.

but what is your stance on those people who don't want to pvp but feel they must in order to pve...? Why is that trade off fine?

Any guild just starting to raid for tier 4 gear could easily get pieces of tier 5 pvp gear faster than they could tier 4 pve gear, and for some classes (especially melee for weapons) the pvp gear is far better for pve than any pve gear that is even remotely obtainable.

It wouldn't be so frustrating if it wasn't for the fact that wow seemed to be mainly a pve oriented game pre-tbc...and was the most successful video game in history, then you come out with an expansion that seems to be "lol let's change that!"

That's a personal choice and by no means necessary or a 'must' do. It's a choice that people are making about what they want to be able to do with their spells and abilities. The only trade off is the one that people create based on their perceptions of what they think they must have to be their most successful.
