If I cancel my current subscription and my friend sends me a recruitment form and I use the new key-code from the letter. Will I be able to upgrade using my retail I had canceled? Not the same account I mean but the same code on it to upgrade with. Or is it automatically done whenever I subscribe so I don't have to buy the disks or use my current ones?

As Tandaa said, Haleron, authentication keys may only be used once. Although you could cancel your account you will be unable to apply that key to any other account.
