Erase Arenas

pvp minded epics acquired by those who lose weekly at what they do = not epic
that same losing acquired pvp minded epic gear used to get into raids = not epic

Bring back pvp rankings that are required for better pvp gear. Better ranking = better gear. Make it so you have to beat the best on the battleground rather than stacking up hks to become the best in the pvp rankings.

That is all.

While we do constantly work to improve the Arena and Battlegrounds systems, I can assure you they will be here when Wrath of the Lich King ships.

I do not want to grind honor for s2, and I am not good in arenas.

I would say don't then.

you know, its not really a matter of wanting arenas removed. People just want the game back the way it was when arena wasnt the pvp endgame.

This isn't true. Perhaps many do, but not everyone. Back before arenas and during the old honor system there were just as many concerns being vocalized across the forums about fair play in PvP/gaming the system, accessibility of competitive gear and items, time spent fighting versus waiting in queues, etc.

It's a new day it's a new concern, but to suggest there was some moment in the past that was universally accepted as a time of PvP prosperity and happiness is wrong.

Each new arena season will still reveal the next and highest tier of PvP gear in Wrath of the Lich King. The PvP gear offered via other means will still be entirely competitive. It's silly to call these pity prizes when the gap between tiers is practically nominal.

While I don't think arenas should be deleted, I don't think they should be the focus of WoWs PvP experience. Arena is nothing but Glorifed dueling, the same stuff you get outside of Orgrimmar or Ironforge only with more people and with prizes.

Shift the focus back to Battlegrounds, and world PvP. Heck carry over the concept of arena teams to BGs for all I care, but make them the heart and soul of Warcraft PvP once again.

I wouldn't say it's accurate to consider arenas the focus of our PvP content in Wrath of the Lich King, even if the gear awarded through arenas is the best for PvP.

Too bad gear=all in this game.

What does that mean in the context of what I just said?

He means that's because the area's give out the best gear, PHAT LOOTS, if you will, its being shown as the most important piece of pvp in the game because you get the best rewards for doing it.

Arena gear makes it impossible to have fun pvp'ing in battlegrounds without arena pvp gear because of the stupid resilience stat among other things. It adds such a ludicrous gear scale for players that just want to have fun its stupid.

But you aren't forced to do arenas to get at least a few pieces of very competitive gear for use in other PvP content.

That said, I do agree that it's not ideal to have best-in-slot items for all facets of game play available to only those who are focused on arenas. We will be working a lot to improve itemization in Wrath of the Lich King for PvP and PvE gear in this regard.
