Everyone's allowed to be completely merciless for the entire week!

edit: There we go. That's a much better OT thread title. :)

Incidentally... "OS8xLzIwMDggNTo1OVBN" Base-64 is "9/1/2008 5:59PM".

The realms went down but auto-recovered. They should be fine, but we'll keep an eye out.

So.... I'm lost as usual.... I have NO clue what's going on here.

No. Don't tell me. I'm pretty sure I won't get it anyway, especially if it's somehow related to movies or tv. That's okay, could I just have another glass of burgundy?

Again, I'll pass. But I love you anyway!

I think I've heard of this guy's name several times, but I've never seen any of his acts until now. Great stuff, though. I love the 'monkey with a gun' sketch. :)

One of my most favourite skits.

There are a few versions out there, there is the audio CD and the DvD and I'd heard a slightly different version on Youtube or some other site. My favourite is the DvD.

The temptation to go off-topic in a thread is always high, which is why we offer an off-topic thread in the CSF--to keep it contained.

Belf, you showed more restraint and patience and tolerance for those two than I think I could have or did, gratz to you, Guess that is why you get the big bucks (or dough as the case may be - pun intended).

:)

I've taken the horseshoes off for the most part--chances are good you've noticed in the past week or so.

I'm tired of getting angry. A lot of situations just don't call for the passion or exertion I've put into them, so why should I bother?

Gotta chillax or it can kill you.

Not necessarily. It's for a number of reasons. It's also why we've been gently pushing the regulars to declaw themselves a little. It's just not necessary to go searching for daggers in every shadow.

What brand of soy milk do you typically pick up? The shop I frequent has a veritable buffet of options, but I've yet to try all of them.

I adore almond milk, too, though have yet to try hazelnut milk. I'm also quite taken with thai coconut milk, but only for certain projects.

Absolutely. You'll gain the full value of the word, as well (minus any used "score" bonuses).

I once earned a Triple-Word Score by attaching "L" and "Y" to "IRREVERENT." Defining moment of my board game life.

So in my RL I am a high school Vice Principal. Today I explained the consequences for student discipline as a penalty volcano...those words came out of my mouth before I realized I was even saying it. Am I reading here too frequently? It really was a great way to explain things though! Hope you blues don't mind:)

Gasp!

The vice-principal plagiarized? Tsk tsk!

I kid, of course! I think it's excellent that you borrowed an effective analogy, and I hope that it proves to be a concept that your student body can relate to easily. It can be tough and trying to be in the position of disciplinarian, and I think it's awesome that you got some help from what could be considered an unlikely source.

On the other hand, you could have just told them that if they stray, then they shall be epically pwned in the face. You could distribute images of people doing the wrong thing, with the word FAIL photoshopped into the pictures as appropriate.

My mental images of DRESSCODE FAIL are actually pretty hilarious.
