Ingame mailbox size

I suppose this is a weird place to ask, but I can't think of where else to ask.

Like, how big IS the ingame mailbox anyway? I was told by a GM once that it does have a cap where any mail past it is lost, but the GM didn't know what it was.

I'm particularly concerned because I tend to put an average of about 20+ auctions on the AH when I log off every night, and I'd hate to learn that I've been losing lots of money due to mailbox size >.<;

I'm thinking it's something like 16 or 20 slots, but I'm not sure.

You're only able to see 50 slots; however, your actual mailbox can hold much, much more than that. Should you ever possess more items than the 50 slots will visibly allow, any additional articles of mail will simply stack behind these slots and remain until their determined expiry date. With this, as you remove items from your mailbox, the stacked items will simply fill up the now-available slots.
