Healing during duels - what's the protocol?

Saying a healing class can't heal during a duel is like saying no one is allowed to use abilities that mitigate damage. It's a part of the class' ability. That said, I personally have used bandages in duels, but have never used potions. It's just how I and my group always did our duels.
