KTM Threat Meter violating WoW TOS part II

I have already asked in the UI forums and got no official response. If the topic has been moved over there... it means a customer service rep is pushing this out of his/her queue. As a customer... I am just looking to make sure I am doing the right thing. If I could get a response from an official source... or even a pointer to an existing resource that I can use to confirm this myself... that'd be great.

Q u o t e:
Just got a message in a thread I had posted about our raiding requirements for a PUG. Included in the list was the KTM Threat Meter user interface. Someone responded they had a friend that had a conversation with a GM saying that it violated the TOS of WoW to use that UI.

Anytime I see a comment like that where it is 2nd hand info... I am tempted to just write it off. Is there a list of UIs that are officially off-limits that I could consult?

If not, does anyone know if KTM Threat Meter is safe to use?

Since User Interface modifications in general are not supported by Blizzard Entertainment directly, it's difficult for us to offer an official comment on whether or not a specific mod is dangerous. The thread was moved to the UI & Macros Forum for this reason, as it is generally best discussed amongst the community.

With this being said, there is a natural risk involved in downloading any third party add ons. Not only might the program violate our policies by using .exe files for malicious purposes, downloading these mods from any site other than the most trusted and secure sites out there could potentially result in the user's account becoming compromised.

I do believe the mod to which you're referring was recently being used to mask the infection of the user's system with a keylogger. This may have been to what the Game Master was referring when speaking with your friend.

Is the mod itself dangerous? Probably not. Many people use it. Can it be dangerous? Certainly.

I hope that clarifies for you, though I apologize for being unable to offer a more encouraging response. = \

Do you fellows realize the irony in bumping bumped threads with requests or expressions noting that bumps are bad? :P
