Billing customer service phone number useless

Ok, so I've tried calling the 1-800-592-5944 phone number no less than 40 times today since 8 AM pacific time when the Blizzard offices supposedly open. I actually called earlier than that (I'm on the east coast) and heard the "we are not open yet" message, so I know I have a number that isn't out of service.

Of course this is the number on numerous websites and posts so there's no question this is the correct number.

My problem is, the phone calls never go through. I don't get a busy signal, but rather an extremely rapid beeping sound (maybe this is the California busy signal?). Are you trying to tell me that a company with 10 million + subscribers gimps on how many phone lines they have for billing customer service? No "we're sorry all operators are busy" message, no automated robot menu system - nothing at all?

So, what gives? Blue posters, please address this problem. If I have a billing issue I should at least be given the courtesy of you answering the phone when I take time out of my day to call you.

The reorder tone, also known as the fast busy tone or the congestion tone, is a dual-frequency tone of 480 Hz and 620 Hz at a cadence of 0.25 seconds on, 0.25 off. It is used to indicate that a person has dialed an invalid code, or that all circuits (trunks) are busy and/or their call is unroutable.

It means the Blizzard lines are so congested, even their phone company can't deal with it. :)

edit: And the Blizzard billing lines get like this *every* Monday. It's not even remotely unusual.


Unfortunately, this is pretty much entirely correct. We're taking some steps in an effort to relieve the congestion a bit, but since there are so many incoming calls it's not likely that these efforts will result in much of a visible change for those attempting to get through - at least, not on a very busy day like a Monday =(.

Please don't be disheartened though, and I encourage you keep trying. Alternatively, if your issue isn't urgent, or doesn't necessarily require a phone conversation to resolve, you could try calling Tuesday - Thursday, or emailing instead. Here's the contact information for our Billing Department:
