Lore is a 4-letter word.

I just read a blue post on the EU forums that briefly commented about how BC had horde exploratory lore, and wrath would have a bit more alliance leaning lore due to Arthas being a human in the past.

Now i have no problem with that statement in general, but Speaking as a player who has played the same Forsaken warlock since the game was released, I do have to voice my opinion that the forsaken (and the tauren) have every bit as much right to expect a lot of lore out of this expansion.

Starting out and leveling up, the forsaken would run into quests about creating a plauge...this line lasted until the 30's or 40's then dissapeared with no real close to the idea. So silvermoon is connected to UC, and we got a cool song and a little Dark Lady lore...(loved it by the way). after that...not much. The Trolls get entire instances of lore to themselves...Zuljin and such, the forsaken and to even a worse extent, the Tauren are rather lore starved on the horde side.

Gnomes have an instance...Dwarves...they have the dark iron dwarves, several instances, and the Uldum storyline, Dranai and Bloodelves are all over BC. Humans and Orcs likewise are well populated.

The problem with the forsaken is that we are not the scourge. The scourge has instances and lots of questlines...the forsaken do not. Tauren even have it worse...poor carin hasnt left his tent or had a major role since he sent a young tauren to kill a terrible raging kodo..oh and lets not forget his importance on holidays... *roll*.

Lets rank the most lore starved to the least of the major races of Warcraft:

1) Goblins (we know very little of them besides the fact that they are merchants
2) Tauren
3) Forsaken
4) Gnomes
5) Dranai/Bloodelves...only due to being late to the game
6) Humans/Orcs (thrall storyline and onxyia key chain cancel each other out in my eyes)
7) Trolls (ZF, ZA, ZG are rather rich in lore for trolls)
8) Dwarves (Uldaman, numerous archeological digsites that are quest hubs, AQ to some degree)
9) Naga
10) Merlocs...(last but they are getting alot of lore in wrath already).

The forsaken's sole purpose is fighting arthas....I dont even see how you could have them have less lore in this expansion then the humans. Even if this expansion turns out to be about 'redeeming' arthas, the forsaken are not going to forgive him...and it would be even more reason for the forsaken to hate the alliance.

Lets not talk about horde vs alliance lore amounts...balance the amount for every race, not just each side.

There is a lot of lore to experience in the expansion and there really isn't a fair way to compare between Horde and Alliance. Each side has a lot to experience and a long journey to undertake. There is no shortage of things to learn or experience and the only concerns that Wryxian was trying to address was a perception that one side was missing out on a particular storyline versus the other.

Either way, there is a plethora of experiences to be had and plenty of lore to delve into for both sides within Wrath of the Lich King. Each side has their journey to take and battles to wage. Sometimes those intersect and sometimes those diverge.
