American Express gift card problem

Hey im trying to use my $25 dollar gift card that i bought at longs. Its American express. When i put in the number and verification it gives the an error on the card number line that says an error has occurred processing your card please contact us at .. and gave its contact info.. why wont it work?

I do believe that you've misinterpreted the issue, Dave. The issue with Bank of America is that there was a string of fraudulent payments that occurred due to compromised accounts and identity theft.

If someone is experiencing an issue with charges being blocked, they should be able to contact their branch and have the charges cleared and allowed by the bank itself. As far as I'm aware it's simply for their customers' protection; I am unable to speak for a third-party however.

Depending on the issue, it's sometimes just browser related and leaving the page and going back to it may have cleared any issues. You may also have happened to enter the information slightly incorrect the first time around or something.

There just tends to be a lot of conjecture and misunderstanding by those experiencing the issue so it's hard to grasp the specifics when there are a lot of different answers coming from various sources. I wanted to make sure the issue was clear. =)

Transfers? More than likely. =/

It's a way to protect against fraudulent payments in general.

The client (the one with the account) just needs to tell the bank that it's them doing it and all should be well.

Well, it's only if they're specifically dealing with that type of issue. Some of them need to be addressed by our Billing department for various reasons. That's why it's usually just best to have them contact Billing.

They'll inform them of what needs to be done. =)
