WoTLK Talent release Pre-Wrath?

Will a patch go live shortly before release that implements the new talents, similar to the way it was done before the launch of BC?

I can imagine why not, given the massive impact it would have on arena balance. However, this could also be a good test for what imbalances will exist in level 80 arenas, giving Blizzard dev time to correct.

And for those of us without beta keys, it gives us time to toy =).

We'll be providing more information on what players can expect in the transition into Wrath of the Lich King before much longer. I know people are anxious to hear more about it, but we don't have any information ready to release just yet.

I'm amazed at the CMs' ability to word "soon" differently each time. I swear it must be a question on their interviews or something.

Blizz: "So, Nethaera, is it? Tell me, how many different synonyms of "soon" are you familiar with?"
Neth: "Ah, I was expecting this. How much time do we have? This might take a while."
Blizz: "You're hired!"

Well given that many questions don't change, we sometimes have to change it up a bit to keep the spark going. Either that or we have one big counseling session and I don't think there is an office big enough to hold us all.

The new Blizzard staff-only training event:

Sooncon!

I meant us and the community both. ;) I don't think there would be a couch big enough either.

Otherwise, as you all know, we will release information, any transitional patches and content that we may do, and the expansion when we feel we're ready to do so. Things are going extremely well and we're very happy with the progress we've made and continue to make.

Q u o t e:
is there gonna be an event for when Wrath of the Lich king goes live? like it was pre-BC?

That would be fun, wouldn't it? ;) I would ask my magic 8 ball here, but all it's giving me is blackness. Must be something dark and sinister on the horizon.

BTW, I think that what people really want from CMs in these kinds of response situations is to illustrate a sample of points that the devs have considered as they strive for a solution. This at least gives people a flavor for what factors are at stake.

Now, perhaps it's the case that the CMs posting these kinds of responses are more of a conduit of information and are too withdrawn from the details to comment - but I know from a personal standpoint that I would find it satisfying.

Ghostcrawler does a really good job of this in the beta forums. Granted, it clearly takes more time to formulate these kinds of posts, but it really gives you something to chew on, as a consumer.

Ghostcrawler is a developer. ;)

Also, while we have information, we work very hard to make sure that we get all of the information as completely as possible and confirm it for as much accuracy as possible before releasing it. For Burning Crusade we did this same thing and worked to make it known what would and wouldn't be available prior to the release of the expansion as a part of the expansion. As I've already said, I'm answering a much asked question by letting it be known that we will be doing our best to keep everyone informed based on actual confirmed information, when we're ready to do so.

As others have also pointed out, talents and changes affect everyone and the only difference that should be seen in that regard is if you have the expansion and can level beyond 70 to get into those higher abilities.

thanks for ignoring my post which was exactly the same as this guys posted a week ago.

Despite the fact that it seems we are everywhere and all knowing, we are not and can't be in all places (or even dimensions) at once unlike others it seems. Alas, yes, we are indeed simply mortal. Take no personal offense but this isn't the first time I've answered this question.
