I recruited a friend through the 10-day trial but I cannot figure out how to summon him or have him summon me?

To summon your friend, you can right-click their name in the Social tab, or right click their character portrait, and select the appropriate option =).

Is he through the Death Knight starting area quests?

DKs cannot (and should not) leave that area until they are done with the questlines.

Actually, it isn't. It is best to create your own thread instead of bumping a thread that is fairly old.

I don't believe that is entirely accurate, Marchio. The account management page may say an account is linked, it doesn't indicate which one.

No, I'm afraid you would have been limited by what you could do on the account WOW2 because you used the online upgrade feature, though leveling restrictions are lifted immediately most of the other trial restrictions will remain for up to 72 hours while the purchase processes. It had nothing to do with the other account on your Battle.net.

Unfortunately the account you should have upgraded, the one that is linked with through the Recruit a Friend promotion is WOW1. It looks like you created and upgraded a new account, WOW2, that is not linked to your friend in any way.
