Whats to stop my level 60 refer-a-friend from gifting 5 levels to my Deathknight at launch?

Death Knights can be gifted levels as well up to 60, however, they will still need to satisfy all quest objectives in the starting area before moving out into the world.

I was reading the DK quests on WoWWiki last night... and was it correct that your talent points come from completing the quests? As well as the mount, and blue-quality gear.

But beyond all that... why the hell would I want to skip all that nifty new stuff, even if I could?

Yes, the quests are designed to get Death Knights started from 55-58. This content cannot be skipped.

WoW going downhill starting here. Waiting for the option to purchase legendary armor for real money now since Blizz apparently likes the idea of turning WoW into a skill less circus where they reap as much money they can get out of us, and to satisfy them gold farmers they oh so adore.

Sensationalism is a good form of argumentation these days I guess.

I'm getting closer and closer to my promised "I told you all so" comment.

Blizzard seems to be deleting all my opinions on them losing sales as the rest of the MMOs that are due to release are starting to show smoke on the horizon from their fires. :-)

Again so Blizzard can delete my reply: Blizzard is doing the RAF because they know that the competition is getting hot and need to make a quick buck before their sales start to drop!!

Quoted for paranoia.

Sensationalism is when one uses something and exaggerates it to make a point. This form of rhetoric device works, as it can create an emotional response, another form of rhetoric, which can of course cause even more responses.

The problem is, he isn't sensationalizing to much. Your company gave mounts 10 levels earlier, and offered more experience, while lowering the experience required. This was offered to all players, but still made it overly easy.

Thus, if you take the evidence provided of making the game as 'easy' as possible to get to the 60 mark, one can make a very fair point of where Blizzard is heading. If they continue on their current path, there is no telling what they may do to make it easier.

One could argue that Blizzard may very well offer a full set of bags, or even a handful of gold when one starts to help them out.

While you may call this sensationalizing, I would point you to the Death Knight which will get a full blue set and starts at level 55, as well as getting a mount and all of his talent points up to that point with a very easy set of quests.

I'd say sensationalizing is the least of your companies concerns.

You may be in agreement with the poster to whom I was responding. While you express legitimate concerns though over the marketing and design of the game, he makes sensationalist claims. You two are welcome to feel as though your opinions should be contrary to mine on this subject. That said, it doesn't mean you need to validate his false and dramatic foresight.
