We were all n00bs at one time. And even when we began playing WoW and learning the game, we made n00b moves, but what is the most recent n00b thing you did?

Mine was over the weekend. Guild is running Kara and I still have to do the CoT Black Morass to finish keying. Other quests are large group quests and/or other dungeons so to see the other side of the content I had rolled a horde rogue and level him slowly in my spare time.

I finished up an Arugal's Folly quest where after looting the item, two moonscalps come in and attack me. Of course they killed me, but I had completed the quest. I spirit res at Sepulchur since I have 4 quests to turn in there, and 3 mins of res sickness is no biggie. I repair, turn in the quests real quick, and head out. I was level 14 at the time, and I decide to attack a L12 bear to skin for leveling my LW and Skinning. I'm bashing away at this L12 bear, and I see I'm about to die, but the bear is still at like 75% health !??!? So naturally I sprint away back up the hill towards Sepulchur, wondering why the heck I can't even kill a L12 bear when I can normally take out mobs 2 levels higher.

DUH, res sickness.

Someone I know paid for a port to Thunderbluff so they could train staves. They got there, tagged the flightpath and then forgot what they originally went there for. They hearthed all the way back to the other continent and then realized their mistake. Doh!

Someone you KNOW, eh?

Yes, someone I know. ;) My own recent noob mistake was forgetting to put my pet on passive so that it didn't pull an entire room of mobs. Oops! My bad.

Hmm, Neth...
Why was it set on anything besides passive in the first place?
I can think of a few moments in the game where defensive is useful. I guess if you were on add duty in Black Morass aggressive could help tag mobs to keep them from channeling... But why would you have given up control of your pet at all?

I'm confused.

On the "add duty in BM" note, try laying a snake trap for the whelps. Just try it. That is, if you're a hunter.

I had been farming for leatherworking earlier so just had the pet killing as we went along. ;) I just forgot to change it over.

I was having a really difficult time leveling my BE mage alt in the ghostlands, just about every quest she was doing she was dying. So I complained about how difficult the ghostlands were because I have a troll mage in the mid 40s and I didn't remember dying quite that much at that level.

Well I hit level 16, and went to the mage trainer in Silvermoon...turns out I hadn't trained since level 10. Certainly explained why I was dying so much.

:P

This made me LoL. ;)

I went too cloose to Medivh in BM on my warlock.

We did fine, although the warrior yelled "OMG, I'm leaving! Noob warlock!!". I had to deal with all those pesky critters on top of regular portal adds but the shield stayed at 100% nonetheless. After several monotonous BM runs that one was, in fact, fun and challenging.

That reminds me of the other thing I did. I was used to having to talk to someone to trigger an event and didn't even think about it as I too, got a bit too close to Medihv. Our party was a bit scattered and wasn't ready so had to scramble. I still healed everyone through it and no one died. Again, oops. It happens. Usually when I'm just tired or am thinking of something else. ;)

does multiple candle posts in a thread about n00b mistakes potentially qualify as legendary ?

No, it just goes to show I too can make noob-like mistakes now and then as shocking as that may be for some to believe. ;P
