As a world of warcraft player in china, my account was banned today. There are a couple of questions described as following that needs your help:

1. Is it possible for me to play WOW-US instead of WOW-China in china? As you know till now the burning crusade is still not available in WOW-China and plus I have many friends in US and CA who obviously play WOW-US. I searched around the website but I don't think playing WOW-US in china is forbidden.

2. I did encounter a problem when I registered my account in www.worldofwarcraft.com. It says "the account creation process is only available to customers in North America, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia." Therefore I asked my friend in US to create my account. Did this cause the closure of my account?

3. I also used a proxy server to play WOW-US due to the latency of the internet. Is this allowed?

All in all, I just want to make sure as a wow fan, people of all over the world will have the same opportunity to enjoy the game. And also I want my account back if possible. I appreciate your help in advance. Thanks

We have no interest in persecuting or suspending legitimate players regardless of where in the world they may be playing from. Players' login behavior is not treated in a stereotyped manner and players are not assumed to be something they are not just due to their locale.

That was some resurrection. :)

It might be best to allow the thread to rest, I don't believe any of the original posters are around.
