Q u o t e:
So when you become a GM, can you choose your own name?

Or do they force you to become <GM> Deacaeiou?

We can choose our own names; although, the names must adhere to a rather stringent version of the RP Naming policy.

Q u o t e:
is the Game Master department as a whole moving to Texas, or will there be GMs working out of both Irvine and Austin?

Heya, Faiz! There will be Game Masters that remain in Irvine (like myself). The office is essentially splitting. Some will stay... some will go... many will join. ; )

Wait..B-b-Batta...

If I wanted to apply when I'm of legal age, I'd have to move to Austin?

Or is there a possibility of the Irvine spot opening back up?

I believe the main focus is staffing the new office in Austin. This does not mean, however, that positions in Irvine will never be available again.

A lot of people agree that it was May first, but truthfully I think it was May 15.

Definitely not. My first signature was "10,000 days in the fire is long enough" which was from a Tool album that came out May 2nd. I used it the week the album came out.

So will all the CS Forum mods stay in Irvine? Or you're not allowed to disclose this information.

I could not imagine living any other place but Southern California, I'm not going anywhere. :D

There are a few shows that I record and watch over at a friends house so I have not purchased a TiVo system yet. I have two VCR's which record the multiple shows I watch.

Thursday is difficult since there are three different channels I record, it is a close shave on one of my shows.

Vrak does not like to miss his soaps!

Believe me, we don't like it when he misses his soaps, either.

...oh, were you talking about television shows?

Any word on where the ATX office is going to be located?

It is located in Austin, Texas. ;D

Q u o t e:
Any known reason for choosing Austin?

Because it's close to San Antonio and we love our salsa?

Put an office in Philly! Just so I can sit and stare at it. Not...creepy like....or...anything...

Would you bring us cheesesteaks from Pat's for lunch? I might set up offices there, if so...

I always get my cheesesteaks with extra artery clogging goodness. ;)

Get me a provolone wit while you're there, and I'll love you forever. :D

But try as they may, not one of them can make an authentic Philly cheesesteak.

And those sanitized things? Fuggitabout it. It ain't a cheesesteak unless it's dripping in goo, cheese, and steak juice, and you can't help but wonder if the paper they slapped on it is going to last...

Well, Philly's Best (they have locations in California) is supposed to be pretty authentic; they use Amoroso's rolls and everything. :D

I'm a Philly girl all the way down, baby. I just can't accept it. I can't, man, I can't! It's gotta be local!

Well, if I ever visit Philly, I'll have to try both Pat's and Geno's, just to see what I'm missing here in California. ;)

1. Any idea on when or where I could locate information on the ATX office?

Your best bet is to e-mail gmjobsaustin@blizzard.com, although I cannot promise a response.

Q u o t e:
2. New sig OK?

I'd say it's borderline. :)

Q u o t e:
I assume that Blizzard has benefits, but I can't find any information on it. Is there some place where I can get detailed information about what benefits Blizzard offiers? (i.e. 401k, health insurance, etc.)

While I can say we are offered a wonderful benefits package and the like, the specificities are likely better discussed during the interview process.

Q u o t e:
Also, overall, do you guys enjoy your jobs? I can imagine that there will be those days where you just want to slam your head against a desk, but I think every job has that. Are there more pros than cons, in your opinion?

I do enjoy my job. I've had trouble keeping jobs for more than a year at a time in the past before getting really bored and not caring. Not only do I still take a great deal of pride in my work while I'm here, I'm also still anxious to assist players according to the procedures provided me. If you live in the Austin area and have the opportunity to submit a resume, I strongly suggest giving it a shot. ; )

I see how it is. First you post a thread about this job, then you begin strongly suggesting other players apply?!

Are you telling me you're not confident that you're the best of the best of the best?

o.O uh... last I heard, all Blizzard GMs had to be on site. I really think your friend is yanking your chain.

This is the truth of the matter, there are tools that Game Masters need to have, that are not available anywhere but in the office. We are also required to work a 40 hr week, regardless of whatever else our life entails.

When I first started working here, I was working at night, an going to school at night, five days a week for both, never a full day off due to not having weekends off from work. It was well worth it, as I really wanted to be a Game Master, but the point is, no.. we do not offer positions to be a Game Master from home.

It's actually very exciting for us here to see enthusiasm about the new office in Austin. Good luck to you, Avail! ; )

Do they have an exact date when the offices will be set to start working or for interview's? Don't have any idea's or thought's as to how this will work out for us.

I don't have any information about the hiring process; however, I would imagine the office is going to start staffing up within the coming few weeks.
