A person in my guild just got reported and then warned by a GM for camping someone...

... on a PVP server.

The GM told him 1 hour was the limit for camping and then it was considered "harassment"

Now, everytime I've EVER heard of someone getting reported for anything even remotely PVP related (camping, blocking instance portals, etc), the GMs have always said.. it's a PvP server.. find a PvP solution to a PvP problem.. or just deal with it.

How is this even possible?

If you are getting camped for an hour it's called log off, or go make a sandwich, or call your buddies.. or GASP.. spirit rez. Plenty of solutions.

But report someone?
And then the GM follow through and actually give someone a warning for PVPing on a PVP server?

Q u o t e:
It wasn't me, it was someone's alt in my guild. I've got better things to do than camp someone for an hour.

But the fact remains that that is retarded. If you're dumb enough to be camped for an hour straight by one person, you probably deserve it.

I guess I just fail to see the justification in this. I've been camped before for excessively long periods of time by multiple people, even followed around entire zones being stalked and camped. While annoying and ridiculous, I didn't go crying to a GM about it.. such a thought never even crossed my mind.

Up until 10 minutes ago I thought it was impossible to get a GM to intervene in anything that had to do with PvP, unless you are physically blocking the orb into BWL (which a horde guild tried to pull on us once). Every time I've ever talked to a GM about similar situations or heard about similar situations, the generic GM response has been " Tough.. deal with it, it's a PVP server"

My guess is she was camping the GMs alt

Care to provide the character name and realm of the player in question?

I don't see any warning having been issued, and the account has not had any action taken against them for corpse camping. Game Masters do not intervene in situations of repeated killing of the opposing faction on Player vs. Player realms - it is fair game and a completely within the PvP Server Policy (http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01654p).

A Game Master may step in if there is some type of exploitive behavior occurring, but it would not be to address the 'corpse camping' but to handle the abusive or exploitive action.

Folks, feel free to kill members of the opposite faction to your heart's desire - happy hunting. :o)
