Just a funny prediction, about the rabid fan base we have here and everyone antsy for beta even tho its prob a HALF A YEAR away! Let that sink in, prob September, almost a half a friggin year to wait for beta, and def at the very very least 3 months. So here's what I predict we hear in a month or 2 from a FEW people.

"Quitting Hearthstone. after proxy play testing with friends every day I'm burnt out."

My point is that people are already playing, and where there's playing, there's overplaying. We will start to see people who have already played the life out of a game that's not even in beta yet and won't be for awhile. Will be pretty funny, burn out a game that's months from even a beta release.

I'm addicted to this forum but I have to try to give it a rest for at least 3 months. And even then it will be months from beta. blizzard should announce a week before beta.

Announcing a week before beta is not in the realm of reality. Not only do you have to plan an announcement with a decent amount of time before, your marketing efforts need enough time to get enough awareness before beta/launch.

As we continue, we grow awareness and anticipation for the game. This time frame allows us to have many media sites run interviews and allows us to grow our community ahead of time.

There will always be churn (a term used when players leave) but this isn't indicative of announcement timing. The more polished and engrossing a game is, the smaller the amount of players leaving on a continuous basis.

If this is an area you're really interested in, there is a lot of great resources in marketing for video games on the internet.
