Will BlizzCon '08 be streamed?

I really liked the WWI stream, even though I couldn't be there, I could still watch it. And see the panels and stuff.

So, I was wondering, is BlizzCon '08 going to be streamed?

Even if you can’t make it out in person, though, you can still experience some highlights of the weekend. We've partnered with DIRECTV, a satellite television company whose service is available throughout the US, and they will be offering their subscribers an exclusive package of HD convention coverage as a pay-per-view event.

Of course it won't be.

Someone has to make money off this, because it would be terrible to stream it for free. MOAR MONEY!

(Is the Blizz staff going to make fun of Paladins again this year? That was really professional.)

We intend to have fun which will most likely include poking fun at ourselves and each other, much like friends do because we really and truly feel like we are among friends that understand us when we have these events. There is never any intent to upset anyone or cause them personal duress and everything is meant to be good natured.

If you took it personal, it was never intended that way, and we strive to be professional while still maintaining the very essence of fun that is inherent in the very nature of working as a game development company.

Is it actually part of a blue's job description to sound as much like an automated response as possible? Or does that just start to happen the more you guys post here?

Btw not having a free stream blows, not everyone lives on the west coast you know.

I don't know if other people have done this before, but I've had Pay-Per-View parties where I just get some friends to get together, we all pitch in toward the cost, buy some food and hang out and have a good time.

It's just a suggestion, but it could be your own BlizzCon party if you're unable to make it to the real thing.

Typical Blizzard response. I love you guys, but I'm not going to buy directv just so I can pay for Blizzcon. =\ How much are they paying you guys to pull this stunt anyway?

Seriously though, a blue quoted me.. what do I win?

I'm sorry you're unhappy about it, but I'm sure there will be a lot of additional coverage as well if you don't want to go the route of ordering the Pay Per View. I can say though, that Direct TV does offer us the ability to offer top notch content for those interested in watching it.

You win... fame and fortune for at least 5 seconds. :)

I'm so unhappy about this, I plan on flying to Anaheim to crash Blizzcon myself. This situation is a DirecTV slap in the face.

Wait, you quoted me again.. so thats another 5 seconds, amirite?

You've gone up to ten seconds now. You're on a roll!

Omg Neth, and such a quick response this time. I'm blushing.

So do you have any plans for tomorrow... night?

Most likely catching up on a tv series I've missed out on and cuddling up with a little PvP. So, I'm all booked. Sorry!

Seriously though, why announce this being on DirectTV's PPV, if you can't even announce the price? /boggle

I don't have that information for you though I believe more information will be released on BlizzCon as a whole before too much longer. Hopefully, that will clear up a bit more about what we have planned, what players can expect, and then everyone can make plans accordingly.
