Not Launching on Ipad / Tablet...?

I think it is kind of absurd to think that they are launching in PC / Mac first with a comment that it may eventually go live on the ipad.

This is a clear move in the evolution of gaming for Blizzard. Consoles and PC's are taking it on the chin and have been for some time with the evolution of iPad / Tablet gaming and touch screen game play that enables gamers to be less attached to a couch or desk.

I see this as Blizzards first move to evolve the type of games they develop, in the sense that, this game is defined and a-typical of what can be an ideal iPad / tablet game. This is not to say that they won't continue PC development, but the business' overall key performance indicators must be telling them to look elsewhere.

Business models internally are shifting to return to grass roots. Small highly skilled teams assembled and working close knit to accomplish a project - this echoes the type of development seen in 2 of the top grossing iPad games.

Big dollars are being spent now in a new channel that Blizzard (in my opinion) is wanting to tap into. Call me out if I'm wrong, but Blizz is reacting to the market and developing a tablet game.

In that case, why in the burning hells would this game not be developed first and foremost for the tablet genre?

Having said all that, I am interested in the development of this game, but do not foresee purchasing this type of game for my PC. My iPad Mini seems like the most logical option for me to enjoy this type of game.

Hi Hashassin, thank you for your feedback. Launching a product on iPad/Tablet can be more difficult sometimes than just launching a PC or Mac version. The reason for being is ensuring the quality of the gameplay is perfect for a mobile platform as well as working with Apple (or other third-party companies) to support the app in their store.

You don't have to worry, though, as the game WILL launch in iPad (not may, as you stated). I hope that helps calm your fears a little.
