Welcome back, my friends,
To the show that never ends.
We're so glad you could attend,
Come inside, come inside.

There's a small chance that sometime in the past four years you may have heard about - perhaps even played - an MMORPG called World of Warcraft. One might even go so far as to call it a rather "popular" game, but everybody knows that it's all relative. If you have heard about said game, you may have also known that there was an expansion pack: The Burning Crusade.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Alliance and Horde... if I may introduce myself: I am a Mage, and They Call me Jayne. No, don't ask who "They" are, such things are best left unsaid. Trust me, you'll thank me.

Two years ago, thanks to the capricious hand of Fate (as well as some pretty cool people in some little company located in Irvine, California), I went to Outland to explore the Closed Beta Test for World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Water was conjured, dungeons were run, increasingly-painful puns were written, a great many things were set on fire, and a generally fun time was had by all. Of course, all good things must come to an end, and as the Beta came to a close and the game went live, my journey came to an end.

…that is, until now. And this time, I’m not alone: we’ve got a ragtag band of unlikely heroes who together will face the dastardly minions of the Lich Something-Or-Other in the name of Honor, Justice, Phat Lewtz, and a general compulsion to slaughter anything that moves and doesn’t have a green name over its head. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get a chance to join us.

Unfortunately, the very first hurdle we face is a brutal one – the Blizzard Downloader itself. This foe is not one that can be defeated merely by setting it on fire! …well, to be fair, one never knows. I’ll see what I can do and get back to you all, but in the meantime, we’ll be playing the Waiting Game, not Wrath of the Lich King. Maybe a round of Monopoly on the side. Who knows?

What I do know is that we’ve got some very nifty stuff planned to give all you happy people a special look into the Lich King Beta that you won’t quite get anywhere else, including your daily recommended dose of absurdism, cynicism, idealism, fanboyism, sarca… ism (???), and much, much more. With a balanced breakfast.

Welcome back, everybody. It’s been a while. Stay tuned – we’re gonna have fun.

Q u o t e:

The music in Northrend is very nice. I especially like the sountrack for Dragonblight, it's ... chilling.

(In a George Winston sort of way, anyway)
:)

I had that same impression as well and also thought of George Winston if you're looking for a style to associate with it. In this case though it's our very own sound team lead by our Director of Audio and Video Russell Brower along with Senior Composer Derek Duke and many others who define the sounds you hear.
