Ok, i dont get it. For one, i dont understand what exactly it is. So you get to play WotLK before it comes out? So you start a new char DK, and start lvling him/her. So when WotLK comes out, and you go buy it. You have to start all over again? Makes little to no sence to me. Yeah it's a good thing, and the from all the post i've seen "I GOT MY BETA KEY, HAHAHA you suck i rule" Wow. . .every DAY i pray to God that i can be HALF as cool as these people THINK they are. I do see Beta as a good thing, to help out WoW fix bugs and stuff, but other than that. . . what is there?

Being one of the first people to see something new gets some people all pumped up. We understand though that this is not something everybody wants to do as you do have to deal with additional bugs and regular changes to things. It can really be a fun experience though if it's a game you really enjoy playing and if you get a chance to try it out, I recommend it. :)

Q u o t e:

Do the devs have a conscious awareness of the social dynamic, and the way we play differently in live versus a beta, and also versus the long run?

Yes. We are aware that not everything on a beta testing realm is exactly how things will pan out on the live realms, but they still provide a more accurate representation than just have internal employees.

Q u o t e:
Are they prepared to make second passes at content which involves a much stronger social dimension and which may pan out differently in live?

How about third, fourth, and fifth passes too? Yes, things change quite a bit before they are even seen by the public and the feedback we receive afterward is really important and while we probably can't change everything, it can make an impact.
