Q u o t e:
You're not kidding. I left the Philippines when I was 13. When I went to college a few years later in New Jersey, I found out that one of my friends lived across the hall from a girl I went to grade school with back in the Philippines. Crazy.
A bit long, but the best small world story ever:
In 1977 between my junior and senior year in H.S. I went to college and took summer classes so I could start the next fall with 9 hours credit under my belt (Trig, Logic, Survey of Lit.). In Trig class was a girl named Sue that I kind of hung out with some, went out with once or twice, but no big deal, we were mainly just good friends. She was actually going to school at another college and was a few years older than me and was just there taking Trig as a summer class since it would transfer back to where she was actually going to school.
Summer school ended and we lost touch. One year later, after graduation from H.S. the summer before entering college, I went to Britain and spent the summer there with friends and family. While in London, we went to see Jesus Christ Superstar on stage. When the show was over I stopped to use the restroom and grab a Libretto. When I came out, my mom and the others I was with were gathered in a small group talking to people. I walked up behind my mom and she she "Oh, there you are, we found some people from Arkansas" and she stepped to the side so I could see who she was talking to - you guessed it, it was Sue. I instantly said "Sue" and she called my name and we hugged and my mom and everyone were like "you know each other?!" We explained how we knew each other and then I went with Sue and her friends for a few drinks.
I have not seen or heard from Sue since that day in 1978 in London. I keep figuring someday, somewhere, I'll run into her again, but no luck yet.
