2 new arena maps but only 1 new BG?

Talk about shafting. I'd like to see at least equal effort put into non-arena content as arena content. I wont even ask for things that will never happen, like equal standard of rewards, but honestly. Is 2 BGs to match 2 arenas really too much to ask for?

If you are going to equate the creation of an Arena map with the creation of a Battleground, you shouldn't disregard Lake Wintergrasp, which is shaping up to pave the way for epic battles.

I respect fully what you guys are doing with wintergrasp, the ideas sound fantastic and Im sure the implementation will be very good as always. The question I have is will it still be relevent in endgame? All of the world pvp objective in TBC, and I mean all of them are no longer an issue when you are level capped in TBC. Please make it relevant, that is all I really ask of wintergrasp.

That's a very reasonable concern and I appreciate that you intentionally avoided sharing it as a fact of the future. When designing this zone we've considered many of the concerns the player base has expressed since the concept of Lake Wintergrasp was publicly introduced. In fact, most of the complaints I've read were being discussed before this content was previewed.

The last thing we want to do when incorporating an entire PvP zone into the game with all new functionality is make it trivial at the endgame, undesirable due to realm population variations, or forgettable because of a lack of incentive.

But that IS what it will become. And I can prove it.

1. As a programmer as well as a long time wow player, I know how the developers think. They don't change their mind, no matter what anyone says about anything. No CM, no player, no one except the people controlling the purse strings can make them change their mind.

2. Because of 1, we know that they will do things exactly the same way as they always have. Due to this, as well as the lack of real incentive to set foot in wintergrasp (gear, special mounts, or balanced-faction pvp being the only reason to do so), no one will set foot in it after they hit 80 and start whatever grind(s) they get into. Does this sound vaguely like Halaa to you yet?

3. If you look at the progress of pvp, it went tm/ss, to batttlegrounds, to epl and silithus, to hellfire and bc lowbie world pvp, to arenas. What is my motivation to go to Wintergrasp at 80 instead of bgs, raids, or arenas? The fact that they haven't told us yet means it DOESN'T EXIST!

This leads us to:
4. Conclusion: It will be a mid 70's pvp zone only. It will be lopsided both in faction balance and the type of "world pvp" junkies that live for 10 on 1 gankfests. Whatever extra incentive people have beyond seeing it once will fade the second time they get gang-ganked.

Enjoy your 2 new arenas. I will not pay 50 dollars more just to see the same trends repeat themselves indefinitely in a product from the same pig-headed developers that gave us what they currently call "balanced pvp".

You forgot to post the proof.
