Scryer / Aldor allegiance forced w/o choice

On my blood elf hunter, I went to shattrath today and spoke to the scryer innkeeper to buy some water. When I talked to him I automatically became friendly with the screyers and hated with the aldor, despite the fact that I specifically had not made my choice between the two as of yet and was still deciding between the two

You choose to align to the aldor or scryers via talking to Khadgar and accepting the quest, and here I've had scryer allegiance forced upon me without my freedom of decision. I contacted GM Valentyyr to ask him to reset my reputation to neutral with both, and he told me that he could not.

I then asked him to escalate the ticket to his superior, because this was entirely unfair and inadvertant, and he refused to do so.

You're supposed to be able to choose your faction. NOWHERE is it said that "speaking with a scryer or aldor will automatically complete khadgars allegiance quest regardless of intent."

This is something that should not have happened according to blizzard's design, something that blizzard is well within the capability of fixing, and something that blizzard is refusing to fix for me.

Here's hoping for a reasonable response to my grievance,

I believe Blood Elves are automatically friendly toward Scryer and Dranei are automatically friendly towards Aldor.

This is correct. Due to their lineage and decades of heated rivalry between their respective races, Blood Elf and Draenei players begin Friendly toward the faction associated with their heritage, and Hostile toward the opposing faction. While the Sha'tar have taken great pains to ensure that Shattrath is peaceable, despite the volatile schism that daily threatens its solidarity, the hatred between the Aldor and Scryers yet simmers just beneath the surface of their reluctant cooperation, and is bequeathed unto fledgling Blood Elves and Draenei first encountering the city.

It should be noted, however, that these "biases" toward one faction or the other should not prove overly significant in affecting players' choice between aligning themselves with the Aldor or Scryers. Blood Elves can still choose to declare their allegiance to the Aldor, and Draenei to the Scryers; they'll merely find that they begin at a slightly lower amount of reputation than an otherwise neutral player would. Talk to Khadgar. :)

sure, I love being denied access to the back path to nagrand because the aldor kill me, regardless of whether I've chosen to side against them.

It should be noted that completing "Allegiance to the Aldor" still provides a significant increase in Aldor reputation, even if one is a Blood Elf. :)

My, I leave for lunch and this thread goes down the path of the Dark Side. I don't see any reason for this "discussion" to continue.
