Demo Locks Don't Want Crit

"Demonic Tactics" now grants increased critical strike chance to you and your demon pet, instead of increased damage.

Thanks alot. Don't you pay attention to your own talent specs? Demonology warlocks don't rely on crit AT ALL. We use stamina, and spell damage, period. Destruction warlocks go for crit, give them the crit talents. Demonic Tactics is now a totally useless talent, I'll have to respec out of it the minute this change goes live.

Thanks again for the poorly thought out nerf.

Not sure of the specific dev reasoning for this change, but if I had to guess, I would say it was changed to limit the number of +damage percentages that could be piled up in one tree. You couple this with Master Demon, Demonic Knowledge, Soul Link and chances are, with your Felguard out (as you're probably going 41 into Demo with this talent, anyways) you're seeing a fair number of damage buffs. Stacking percentages can usually get out of hand when taking other factors into consideration which may further buff damage by a percentage.

I see what you're saying and I can certainly inquire as to specific reasoning, but this just looks like swapping a bit of steady damage for a little bursty damage, which makes for a gradual reduction of average dps.

edit - I forgot Polan...I mean Soul Link.

Q u o t e:
If anything, DT should be 5% less damage taken and 5% stun resist or something similar.

Demonic Resilience?

Reduces chance to be crit, not damage taken (although it does reduce damage your pet takes).

What locks REALLY need is a snare/stun resist imo. And what better tree to put it in?

Yeah, I was just throwing it out there as some kind of damage mitigation in the tree.
