Any way to reset the loot seed?

when an item with a 1 in 4 chance of dropping doesn drop after 16 runs, it starts to seem like the problem may be oneself. So simply put, when the only common factor in a series of probability defying non-drops is oneself, is there anyway to change/reset the loot seed?

No such thing as loot seeds, period =/.

Random drops are, by their very nature, random. Sometimes you get what you're after on the first try (and if that happens, you probably don't think twice about it). Sometimes, you can pursue the same item for dozens of runs, and it just doesn't drop.

Of course, there's probably some other group, somewhere, cursing the fact that what they wanted didn't drop, and the item you've been after "dropped again!? JEEZ" =P.

thats a tad discouraging.

Forgive me if I disagree. Each and every run has an equal chance to produce the item you're after. Some drops are rarer than others, and each attempt is a fresh chance.

It would be far worse if it were possible to 'manipulate' some 'loot seed' for an instance. If such a thing existed, then just having the 'wrong' seed on accident would result in a greatly reduced chance to get the stuff you're after.

Chin-up, and keep on it. Or, if you're getting very impatient, there are often at least a couple options for a given gear slot at each 'tier' of item power. With some research perhaps you can find a reasonable alternative while you're waiting for the item you really want to drop.

There are stories of people running MC hundreds of times and never saw that last piece of T1.

And there are stories of players running the instance once and getting a nearly full set. These things happen both ways, but people are far more apt to share their frustrations than relate tales of stuff that comes easily.
