I paid 900g and waited 10 lvls for this?

hit 70 the other day (yay) and i finally bought my flying mount. Needless to say i was a little disapointed. Sure flying with the birdies is great. And riding atop a blue terodato thing was awesome. Its all very great and good. Except for a few things.

1. it moves at 60% movement speed. Huzzah i can fly at the speed of SMELL! Why should i have to blow 900g so that i can move slightly slower? All im saying is that the regular flying mount should be buffed up to 100% movement speed. Why should i have to accept a nerf just so that i can fly? i paid 900g and waited 10 lvl to get this and it is kinda bull crap. Buff the epic flying mount a little for all i care no sane person is going to buy it anyways.

2. 5k gold for a freaking flying epic mount? Sure it moves hella fast but come on. make it 2.5k so people wont have to farm for a year and a half to get it. Make it accepssable to the casual players. It might even help to cut down on the gold farming market.

3. "cannot use here"??!!! Let me get this straight i blew 900g on an item that i can only use inside 1/3 of the game? It doesnt even have to fly in azeroth. I can understand the work that would put you guys through trying to rope off all the areas we shouldnt be in. Just make it so that i can mount it in azeroth and ride around. I shouldnt have to carry 2 mounts in my already tight bag space.

4. "you have gained a soul shard"!!! give the warlocks voidwalkers wings so that they dont have to summon them when they land. Or put a baby carriage on the back on the wyrven so they can stick an imp back there.

5. Palies and warlocks already have to pay extra for there spells/ abilities give them a free freaking mount for christs sake. The warlocks could be a flaming pegasus thing, and the palies could have a cloud of white fluffy goodness that they cruise around in, sorta like what that guy from black and white had.

6. Give every class that has a mount a form of safe fall when they dismount. Why should mages have all the fun?

7. Allow us to mount in air. This would give rise to some spectacular pvp air to air battles. would make this damn grind fest fun again.

These few easy things if you implemented them would be awesome and give more depth and point to the flying mount besides the ability to reach other places in outland.

Q u o t e:
1) Im sure you guys calculated the various speeds of getting from point A to B most times. And Im sure on paper it looks very nice. But getting us to go from a Ford Taurus to a Porsche on the ground, and the back to ford taurus but in the air, just seems wrong. We are paying a crap ton of gold for these things. They should at the very least not feel slower than what we got allready.

6) You forgot to mention Pallies. They can bubble.

7) Yes, druids getting what they are getting is a big scam and needs to be nerfed. As warlocks and druids have gotten it I cant possibly complain about them getting something similar. However for being able to negate 900 gold training fees dont you think the least you guys could do is make em quest for it? I mean really? Seems like a HUGE advantage to be giving them.

8) Paladin and Warlock mounts. I dont want a way out of spending the money. I would however like the option of questing for a pally specific or warlock specific epic flying mount. I want the opportunity to quest for a mount that looks cool and different. That is all. Hell why not a class specific for every class flying mount? Or at least race specific? Just so there is a LITTLE more variety?

Well I would argue that the non-epic flying mount doesn't cost a "crap ton" of gold, it's a good chunk, but we're not currently concerned with the price. The price reflects what we feel is the quality of the mount, and we're certainly aware that it feels slow. The basic mechanic of flight is, we feel, worth the price. We're not planning to change the speed.

I didn't mention a lot of the abilities of classes or items to prevent fall damage.

It's a pretty nice perk for Druids, we would agree.

Paladins and Warlocks aren't going to always have unique mounts whenever the time arises. Again this has been touched on before, and in a more detailed and thought out response (by yours truly). The nether drake will be a cool and different mount you'll be able to quest for. As far as class or race specific for every class/race, it would be great if we had the resources available to pump out that kind of just extra fun flavor but we really have to manage what's being developed and the ... 'time versus reward', for lack of a better phrase, it provides us.

Sure its not a baby carriage, but it seems close enough to me. Or am I missing something?

Doh. We talked about that too when the information first came around. Forgot.

Well the fact that you can't be dazed flying over mobs makes it worth 900G

WHAT!? I'll make sure that's fixed immediately.
