Keep flying mounts an Outland-only thing.

To me, flying mounts trivialized all ground content in The Burning Crusade, including any world PvP. Sure, you get around faster, but isn't it kind of defeating the purpose of the game to avoid the content of said game?

I would be very happy if they kept flying mounts as a special thing only for Outland and didn't allow them to be used in Northrend. It would make the expansion much more immersive and exciting to actually encounter other players, see the world as it was meant to be viewed rather than from a mile up, and experience world PvP.

Flying mounts seemed like a fun idea, but ultimately they defeat the entire purpose of an MMORPG, which is immersion into another world.

The current plan is to allow players to use their flying mounts once a character hits level 77 in Northrend. I understand you feel they don't add to aspects of the game that you are looking for, but we believe they do add to the game and we are building the new content with the ability to use them in mind.

You will be able to use the same mounts that you currently use in Outland. There will be some sort of process to complete to be able to use the mount once a character hits level 77, but the exact details are undecided at this time. If you are referring to needing a large sum of gold to use them, sort of like a new tier of flying skill, that isn't the current plan.

We don't have any exact details right now but I'm guessing this won't be castable until level 77 and will follow a similar process.
