Island South of Tanaris

Any idea why it's so hard to get to? My gf swam there, and there's not much there. It does not seem incomplete or under construction, but it also doesn't seem very exciting.

Why did they move it so far away? Is there some hidden secret? Or is the joke on the people that go to all the trouble of figuring out how to swim the south sea without dying of fatigue, only to find...not much at all?

That's actually part of a quest where the distance becomes, well - you'll see if you ever do the quest.

What quest would that be? I remember I've done the treasure chest quest, or something like that, but that wasn't an island, only the very lower bottom of Tanaris (which was also a hassle to get too).

Think water, perhaps underwater. And no I cannot tell you anymore :)
