Can I assume no news on Wrath beta/release date until BlizzCon since nothing was announced at WWI?

While we have made announcements at BlizzCons in the past, that doesn't mean that that is the only time we will do it. The beta phase is not currently active and we will post more details when they are ready.

Edit: Just to add on to this - The date for the Wrath of the Lich King Beta has not been announced yet. This is a date that is determined by our development team when they feel the game is ready and not something we need to properly market for a length of time beforehand. When it does begin we will post information on the official website/forums about it and about signing up which we plan to do for it.

Ya I'm suprised there wasnt more WoTLK info. such as class telents, new spells etc..

Very little info was released, not enough to have a whole conference about imo.

They could have released what they did through the web.

We have already been updating information on the expansion pretty regularly and there were some very unique details that came out at the World Wide Invitational. The expansion is more than just some new talents - there are many locations, creatures, and quests (among other things) all being made and want to share details on everything.

I assume Beta invites for WotLK will be handled in the same fashion as in TBC?

Honestly 2.4 was quite a while ago, and I'm starting to really yearn for some new content (I'm not really a 25man Raider, and I got about all I wanted out of Arenas in Seasons 1 and 2.) - but I'll keep my account active just for the shot at a WotLK Beta slot.

I updated my initial post to add more details on this. We do plan to have a sign up page for beta invites when we get to that point with Wrath of the Lich King. We may invite players through other methods as well as we want a variety of players to experience the new content, but we don't have any details to share on this right now.

Please remember though that the beta is not active at this time and there are scams out there that will try to take your account information. Keep an eye on the official website/forums for details on this.

Tell me what I missed, then. I'm eager to hear how Blizzard is addressing my concerns about WoW.

I can't promise any direct answers at this time, but can you tell me what you currently focus on doing right now at level 70?

So is this a scam? http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/beta-signup.html
Because i have already put my beta key from blizzcon07! and if it wont work for WoltK, i will be one angry rogue

As that is part of the official website, it is not a scam. This is the page that was used for the "Future Beta Signup" with the keys given out at BlizzCon in August 2007. Notice it doesn't say that the beta phase is currently active. ;-)

Happy to help out. Just keep an eye on your email box if you signed up with the BlizzCon code already and keep an eye on the official forums/website for announcements on the Beta when the time comes.
