M'uru is faking it! (lore topic)

Giant rant incoming.

After seeing the sight for myself on my BE Pally alt, reading about the naaru and the blood elves and whatnot, I don't believe, for the slightest second, that the Blood Elves have any power over M'uru, the naaru being held "captive" in the Court of the Sun. I believe that M'uru is playing possum, showing the Blood Elves the power of the Light--or watching as the BEs tapped into the powers of the Light themselves--so that they can redeem themselves as a race.

What makes me say that M'uru is faking it? LOOK AT HIM. Go ahead. Go to the Court of the Sun right now on your Hordie and take a good look at him.

See how calmly he floats there, letting those Blood Elf wizards supposedly syphon his powers? M'uru is totally chill, showing no signs of a struggle. The only reason the Blood Elves aren't suspicious is because a) they're arrogance personified, and b) the naaru has no face, and if he did, it'd be a cocky smile that is not at all bothered by the elves's feeble little attempts to subdue it.

When Kael'thas raided Tempest Keep and captured M'uru, M'uru totally just played along, seeing Kael'thas's evil and curious about the prince's people. Since the Azeroth Blood Elves have no idea until they hit OUtland what the hell good ol' Kael'thas Cornelius Sunstrider is doing, M'uru decides to test them. He plants a suggestion in a few BE brains, and viola; the BEs are under the assumption that they're stealing M'uru's power, while M'uru himself sits in the Court, almost like the king himself, and waits to see what the Blood Elves will do with the Light.

Also, the naaru are manifestations of the light, but how is it even possible that their powers could be "stolen" exactly? The Light has been presented as an ideal. Humans and Dwarves tapped into it long before knowing what the hell a "naruu" is. The Draenei were SHOWN the Light by the naaru, not granted it. The Light is the power of an ideal, and I've a hard time believing that the only way to tap into it is through righteous "good." The Blood Elves were probably always able to tap into it, but lost it due to some change in mindset or possibly even some subconscious desire to prevent using the power of Light for the vengeance they all felt they deserved. I don't think M'uru unlocked the power of the Paladin for Blood Elves. I believe that he's simply acting like Dumbo's Magic Feather, suggesting that he's the reason they can use the Light but hiding that the BEs can do it themselves.

Yes, that's right, I said it. M'uru = Dumbo's Magic Feather.

More than likely it is the Blood Elves newfound confidence and drive that has "shown them the Light." Tapping into the Light probably doesn't require a wholesome-hearted person; that's just the way Humans, Dwarves, and even the naruu themselves prepared themselves--psyched themselves up, if you will--to tap into and use the power. The BEs sheer force of will probably summoned the power of the Light, and M'uru is there to simply see what becomes of it, and possibly guide the race down a path that they can be proud of.

Plus, you gotta think that the naaru are capable of communicating with each other over the fabric of space and time, and that they'd sense if some Blood Elf was using another naaru's power. The naaru of Shattrath don't seem to have a problem with PC BE Pallies.

TLDR SUMMARY:

Blood Elves either tapped into the light themselves, and M'uru is acting the role of the false catalyst so he can observe and possibly help the blood elves, OR M'uru is "granting" the power of the Light and pretending to be captured, so that he can guide the blood elves to some greater purpose.

Please continue to post your theories and ideas on these things. They are quite interesting. ;) So many questions and each time we get an answer, even more questions appear.
