Account retrieval - ID and credit details?

Okay, this is a quick one -

Is it really both secure and safe for me to be sending Blizzard Digital ID of the account user & the last 4 digits of the credit card used to active the account in order to retrieve it?
I'm aware this info was input during account activation, but I'm somewhat wary of sending info of this level about hither-tither.

Also, Iirc the last account activation was done by game card, which I'm very sure I have disposed of by now, (as you do, just like phone cards).

Just a quick question upon the security of this method and if it really works -
My account was not just 'stolen' the characters were then auctioned off and transfered to another account, (or so Armory tells me :( ), hence my hesitation in going through the above 'risk' if I don't get my once beloved characters back, just a blank account.

Please, any info and help on this is really appreciated,
Cheers.

Hey there, Gowen.

Can you provide me with the name and realm of a character found on the account in question?

I'd like to take a look into the account before I provide you with an answer.

I thought the information request sounded a bit out of the ordinary.

Regrettably, our policies on these sorts of issues may vary greatly, Gowen. I apologize, but I am not familiar with the account retrieval policy that our European counterparts use. They, however, would be more than happy to address your concerns on the In-Game Support Forum found at the link below:

If you do not have access to an active EU play account, you're more than welcome to sign up for the World of Warcraft trial. Once you have created a trial account you will be able to log in and post on the aforementioned forum. To create a new trial account, please visit the following link:

Good luck, my friend! I hope to hear that this is all straightened out soon!
