So, as the subject says, my account was hacked and all characters deleted. I get to work around 7 this morning and around 7:30 i see an email from Blizz saying my Pword was changed. I immediatly changed my pword and told my roomate to log in with the new pword and see if my chars were ok. He logged on and found out that all my characters were gone. To double check I looked at the character transfer page but nothing was there. So this f'ing hacker deleted all my chars. (Nobody knows my pword, not even my roomates) What should I do?

First - take two deep breaths. Ok, now two more.

There are two stickies you need to look over.

Security

Compromise Info Center

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=3773308319&sid=1

That should have a wealth of information for you.

Step one is always identifying the source of the compromise - and neutralizing it. Trust me - if you don't, this WILL happen again. In many cases it's a keylogger or virus on your machine - or a machine that's been used to log into game - or the forums - so any used at all is suspect. Be mindful that emails are also often compromised with accounts - you may want to change your email password as well once you know you are secure.

Step two - get back into control of the account. You may have already done that with the password change.

Step three - contact us regarding any damages done.

But those two sticky posts should get you well on your way.

Best of luck.
