Level cap 80? Will it be increased again?

The issue I have with the game is that the level cap may be raised beyond 80 and I have 5 70´s atm, all pretty well geared. What is the point in spending countless hours gearing up your characters if the next expansion allows you to replace epics with greens within a few level advancements?

It would be nice if Blizz would leave the level cap at 80 and just find new methods to increase skills and gear and abilities while remaining at 80.

We don't have any details to share beyond Wrath of the Lich King.

That said, before we start to think of things that are way down the road, focus on the present. Why have you spent the "countless hours" gearing up your characters right now? For me it is to feel that I accomplished something with the new character. I enjoy knowing I have multiple characters all leveled up and ready to go if I need them.

Although I agree with you, it was pretty annoying having a bunch of my AQ40 gear (stuff I worked hard to obtain) be replaced by green items 2 weeks after tBC was released. Along the lines of what you said ("to feel that I accomplished something"), I'm really hoping that there will be an effort to minimize this kind of thing happening in WoTLK. I understand that it's going to happen no matter what (because all gear will eventually be replaced), but I hope it wont happen quite as much this time.

It really nerfed that feeling of accomplishment. I would like to maintain that somehow, beyond mere memories, even if that means the old gear gets replaced.

EDIT: one idea I like = a safety deposit box where I could store old gear. Different from a regular bank slot, you could store things, but you'd have to request to retrieve it and then wait some time (24 hours?). This would minimize the load on the database that contains your inventory items; it would also prevent me from having to delete items to make space in my bank.

Just trying to be constructive

We appreciate the ideas and this would be a good thing to focus on in the Suggestions forum. I personally have about 1.5 bags in my bank with just memorable items.

As for the leveling part. I used most of my AQ40 items a decent ways into leveling to 70 and they made leveling go quite a bit easier for me which I felt was a great reward. Something to keep in mind is that there was a change in item setup in The Burning Crusade to where you saw a lot more stamina on basically everything.

In Wrath of the Lich King we don't currently plan to rework an entire statistic like that, so instead the items will just get more powerful at a more consistent rate. Of course anything can still change so we'll have to see how things turn out.

Not so much. Honestly, at first I was upset that most of it was outclassed by lvl 64 gear. But after a while, I was happy simply to get better stuff. The thing that *really* bothered me was having to vendor items I really wanted to keep - simply because I didn't have enough bank space to store them.

I'm like Bornakk (above), in that I have 1-2 bags full of "nostalgia". I just wish I could have kept more of it.

It can be tough to decide what means the most to you, but it sure is nice when you get the extra space.

Thats why I don't.

Um, eww.

Let me re-translate this to a more digestable format.

"We dont want to tell you because that would make you drop the game knowing that we really plan on dragging this game out to level 100."

"That said, before we start to think about things that are way down the road, focus on the present. Lets focus on what we havent told you now because we cant tell you what is going on in wotlk because that would make you focus too much on the present. Focus a little but not too much on the information that you arent getting from us. When you can focus clearly on the information we dont give you then you can move forward with the information about the future that we arent giving you. It all makes perfect sense".

ooo slick.

some more stuff in the 20-50's would be nice cause those quest zones get stale fast. ... well maybe 30-50 something.

Currently we feel there are plenty of options for leveling in these areas, especially with the update we did for Dustwallow Marsh, and we don't plan to add more quests for them. Right now we are focused on all the new quests and areas that will be involved in leveling to 80.

aw... can't just throw like a half doven kill quests in some of those lvl 50 zones? or if they're already there...

just seems like some of those upper lvl zones are more empty than anythign else. like EPL, just running in ther to town and aside from stratholm quests there just didn't seem to be a lot....

kill trolls
kill more trolls
save some ghoul spirits
ummm.... rep turn ins...

and then the stratholm quests.

I agree to a point where I don't feel all of the higher level zones are saturated with quests, but if you do all of the quests available in all of them you can easily hit level 61-62 before setting foot in Outland which makes it seem like there are plenty available.
