No they don't. They come down to the fact that most of the lesser run heroics are extremely badly designed, and take a huge amount of time/skill compared to the number of badges. Every single Auchendoun heroic is guilty of this. When you're designing dungeons in WotLK, please make them reasonably sized. If there's one dungeon that drops three badges and takes 45 minutes, and another that drops 2 badges and takes an hour, it's little surprise which one people will flock to.
Q u o t e:
Shattered Halls isn't feared. It's a long ass annoying dungeon with awful drops.
Q u o t e:
SH is what 4 badges? So is mech, mech is far less annoying, so is UB. And yeah it does take a long time compared to other instances.
For that matter I'd rather just run the first couple bosses in Kara, it's easier and i'd get more badges.
Q u o t e:
So are you the paladin tank, or is one of your guildies?
Q u o t e:
I have to disagree and say this is a misinterpretation.
Like others have said, it isn't a risk vs reward comparison, rather a time vs reward judgement that's used. If you knew that you needed top dps to complete heroic Black Morass and you were bringing along people still wearing greens, this would slow you down considerably.
After running through heroic Shattered Halls with a T5+ pally who decided to pull everything up to the first large room (15 or so mobs?), and everyone lived, I also saw that there weren't many "tricks and such" to learn. Rather, we brute force our way using the speediest methods available. Try running the gauntlet in heroic SH without killing anything until you reach the end. Again, just faster.
