I saw a neck piece that appears to give you a rez if you die?

Fill me in.

Read all of the descriptions carefully and the name of the vendor. He's a shady character. Sure, his amulets technically do what they say BUT they are all things that can happen without the amulets. ;) He is a bit of humor and flavor added to the lower city and should be engaged in the spirit of fun. Buy or not from him but be aware of what it is you are purchasing.

You were much more vague in the beta forums.

I kind of liked it that way.

I know. ;/ But I had to change it a bit since some people are genuinely upset about his existence. This makes me sad.

What people believe in saying this is a "scam," is that it was done just to find (not my words) idiots in the game.

So does that mean that those that enjoy this vendor for the RP aspect are idiots? It's their money they are spending after all. It is an RP element that hopefully people will enjoy much like the tuxedo that people can wear or the wedding dress or any other purely visual or statless item in the game.

Being that there is an RP in the term MMORPG (of which World of Warcraft is), it bewilders me that people would actually overlook that there are RP elements in the game and more that will be added as we feel it fits in. Believe it or not, not everything is designed with itemization for world domination in mind. Some things are designed so that players can feel that they can actually LIVE in this crazy war torn world and believe in it even if for a little bit.

Any other wording of the descriptions on the amulets would negate any RP aspect that they give and that would kill the entire purpose.

RP purposes or not, you're never going to win over people who are tricked by this part of the game. There are many money sinks in this game that provide some kind of benefit to the player. It's not the fact that you loose virtual cash in a video game, it's that the player will feel betrayed or stupid for falling for the trick. If the game had pitfalls like this to begin with, it would feel more of a part of the game. Like paying for repair costs after death. The fact that this aspect of the game came out of left field and seems specifically targeted to trick people is something we haven't encountered in the game before. You can't blame people for being upset and you can't be surprised that people don't care about the RP aspects because they were fooled.

There are plenty of vendors in the game that sell flowers, clothing, and other miscellaneous items that provide no statistical benefit. However, those items are clearly marked and there is no deception involved.

All the world can not be vanilla. Sometimes it needs to be spice cake too. Otherwise these sorts of touches get overlooked and lose what made them special.

You need to add two more amulets: One that allows communication with guildmates no matter where you are, and another that allows you to whisper to people across the globe.

Nice ones. I'm sure there are a lot of things that could translate well into new items. I never know what the creative team has up their sleeves. It definitely makes my own exploration far more fun. :)

Can we have a time machine that only moves forward at normal speed?

Maybe in Area 52. You never know. They're so sneaky there.
