I am getting mixed and outdated information when searching for information on LFR rules.

--What I know:

You kill a boss you get an invisible roll. If you get over 85 you win a piece of loot.

--What I don't know:

***Can I queue as DPS and get TANK gear? (I heard you can queue as DPS, but if your spec'd as TANK for the kill you will get it, is that true?) or are the stats random?

***I keep hearing talk of "coins". What are these? You can turn them in for loot?

***Can you get patterns in LFR? If so, I can turn those into TANK gear even if I queued as DPS?

Thanks Kraylune! Helpful info. One bit of misinformation that's been floating about:

You can use an Elder Charm for an addition VERY SMALL chance at the boots. To give you an idea of how rare it is to win loot off of the extra roll, I have used ~20 Elder Charms and only won one item.

The chance for loot with a charm roll is not worse than your normal roll.

So....it's not misinformation? If so,could you please be more specific?

The implication was that charm rolls have a lower possibility of providing loot than your normal roll, which is not true.
