Well, I am. And as many of you have noticed, gold and XP farming advertisements has gone up dramatically since TBC.

Today I received a TELL from JGHJGJHGHJ that I immediately went to ignore, but got a "no player named 'so-and-so' is currently playing" message. I felt this gureilla tactic was too much, and sent a report to a GM.

Subsequently, the GM informed me that this message was a violation of the Terms of Agreement and that disciplinary actions would follow. I asked what more I could do, and the GM informed me while they catch many violators, many more are also skating by because people aren't reporting every infraction.

I requested that a sticky be made concerning the issue and he said he would pass the suggestion along, and for me to post in the forums to bring attention to the problem.

Please, unite with me, and report EVERY SINGLE gold and XP farming advertisement. It takes only a second and can really help deter this problem.

I'm glad to see so many responses, and felt like I should point out, what I believe to be, a viable solution to the problem. Someone suggested the following feature be added:

Be able turn off all messages, via mail, chat or pst, from all characters less than level 10, unless they are on your friends list.

This would require every in-game advertiser to put in at least 2 hours of gameplay before posting an Ad, in which it would be dutifully reported and force them to start over. This could be quite damaging to thier return on investment.

Since there is little to no interaction with characters below level 10 with those 10+ because there are no instances in this range, gameplay would barely be affected.

I concur with many of you that the current system is flawed, but it is still the best we got.

Please express your thoughts on the aforementioned feature, pro or con.

Please do report them so that the GMs can take the appropriate action. It's the best way to attempt to curb this behavior. I know I have been reporting them everytime I see them and I have confidence that they are being handled.

Discussion has been brought up before with the rest of the team about this and we of course would like to coninue to do what we can to curb the behavior. At current, reporting them is the best possible way of getting it taken care of. We really do appreciate everyone helping us to weed out these sorts of advertisements by reporting.
