Can we talk about the backpack?

you know, that default backpack that we start the game with...

16 slots was great while leveling up, when 6 slot bags were a god-send and 14-slotters was the stuff of legend. it was pretty solid at 60, when 16-slot bags were the standard and the only 18 slot bags were drops from bosses like Onyxia or required getting a super rare recipe + a ton of mats.

but now that 18 and 20 slot bags are becoming common, the 16 slot bag is becoming more of a hindrance than anything else... so what about allowing us to move it into a bank bag slot or having it upgrade with level like the keyring does?

1-60: 16 slots
65: 18 slots
70: 20 slots

FTW!

Allowing the backpack to be upgraded or otherwise just increased is always a possibility, but not something we're planning to do just yet. We need to take into account physical storage space on the realms for each character, and an increase of the default backpack size could definitely have a profound impact. Just like we've increased bank storage and bank bag slots we're certainly keeping the backpack in mind for possibilities of future storage increases.

Q u o t e:

so what about simply allowing us to move our default backpack into a bank slot so we can carry 5 x crafted bags with us to fill with quest / rep items + gear?

Suggestions are always welcome, but as I said changing the backpack isn't something we're planning to do just yet. :)
