Am I the only person who feels like Blizzard giving us access to Death Knights in WotLK at an advanced level is kind of cheap? Every other class I have to level from scratch, why does the DK get special treatment in this regard? Either make it so you have to level the DK from 1 or give accounts with at least one lvl 70 the option to create lvl 55 alts like you are with DKs.

As is, I predict the expansion will be over-whelmed with DKs causing even more class/roll shortages than we have now. LF healer/tank LOL

Many people I know of plan to level their main up to 80 first. I know that's my initial plan. Otherwise, there's something a bit less epic about a Death Knight running around Deathknell or Goldshire at level one don't you think? The idea is this is a Hero class and thus is afforded a bit more uniqueness and a more powerful starting status.

Is starting any class at 55 after getting a level 80 in question? That would not only dilute the rampant Death Knight population, it would also allow people to reasonably roll alts.

1-80 isn't epic, it's a freaking grind, especially if you've done 1-70 multiple times before.

Not at this time, but keep in mind we've made increases to leveling speed from 20-60 and there is always a possibility of more of these sorts of adjustments if we feel it's necessary. We don't want people to skip content altogether though where we can help it. Azeroth has a lot of story within it and being able to experience it via the quests and exploring the various areas is a part of discovering that.

Neth, I don't think anyone has a problem with any of the quests in Azeroth..I think the bigger issue is the amount of travel associated with them. Questing in Azeroth isn't as streamlined as in Outland, and beyond level 35ish you're often running across half the world every half level. (Going from STV to Desolace is a huge pain, especially with only one flight point in that big zone per faction)

We're aware of these concerns and are going to be keeping an eye on everything as we go along. As I said, there is always the possibility of some additional things being done to ease leveling on the way to 80. I just couldn't comment on what may be a possibility at this point in time.

Also keep in mind, we made improvements to Dustwallow Marsh and there is always the possibility of more of these sorts of improvements when time permits it to be put into the development cycle.

But DK's shouldn't take -less- work than other classes.

I don't believe that's our intention at all. You will still need to learn how to play it properly and that is why we are implementing a quest line specifically for this. The death knight also has a unique resource system that it uses, so that too will take a bit of adjustment for people.
