With the transfer que at an estimated 4 days and rising, will us poor free transfer accounts be ready for the Xpac?

Update - 1/12 7:25p PST - I'm glad to hear that many of you are making into the queue, or successfully completing your transfers! While I have not received definitive word that all issues surrounding the Free Character Transfers are resolved, we will continue to monitor this thread to assess the progress of this service. Thanks again for your patience. = )

Update - 1/12 5:00p PST - We have confirmed with our Billing department that all players that enter the queue prior to the 16th will continue to be processed and transferred after the close of transfers on the 16th. In other words, as long as you initiate the process before the deadline, you should be transferred without further issue should the deadline pass before your transfer is complete.

Update - 1/12 3:10p PST - "EN_BATCHPROCESSING_DISABLED" - This message comes as a result of a full transfer queue and is not necessarily a part of the issue here. Transfers continue to move very slowly, which is filling the queues and causing many players to receive the above message.

Our database administrators continue to investigate the reasons behind the very slow transfer process; however, at this time I have no additional information to provide with regards to progress.

I am sorry for the delays and errors as a result of this slow process folks. Your patience is appreciated, and we will continue to provide updates as we are given additional information.

Update - 1/11 4:20p PST - The latest information we have is that our Database administrators and now Development teams are troubleshooting this issue as we speak. Rest assured that as soon as we hear more, we will relay the information to you in this thread.

The transfers are going through as quickly as possible but with the sheer volume of players attempting to take advantage of them, they may not be complete before the expansion is released. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes you, Wickedmiss.

The systems for Free Character Transfers and Paid Character Transfers are completely separate folks. No one is being moved back in queue because a player decided to use the PCT.

Our technicians have been made aware of the reports that players do not seem to be making it through the transfer process and they are looking into it. I will provide an update as soon as I hear back from them.

LOL @ "technicians" , but according to another post...it's not an issue that "tech support" can help you with.

I believe it's in the post Gubblebum is referring to.

Realm technicians and Database administrators are entirely different from Technical Support. Technical Support helps you with technical issues that may be on your end. Technicians fix things on our end.

Folks, forgive me if I'm being confusing.

The Billing department is the department responsible for overseeing all character transfers from a customer service standpoint. If there are, however, technical issues preventing the system from functioning as it should, we will alert our realm technicians and database administrators about the issue in the hopes that they can have it resolved. Since the Billing department does not have a forum, we generally will address transfer concerns on the Customer Service forum as they arise.

So then, we need to talk about your TPS reports.

The latest information can be found in the below post. We are still awaiting additional updates from our database administrators. Thank you for understanding that we'd like to keep only one thread about this issue to avoid clutter! = )

Give me a screwdriver and some dental floss and I'll go try to help our technicians out. Unfortunately for all of us, I'm not the best resource for fixing such issues though. = \

We don't allow our technicians to sleep, in fact I don't believe they require it any longer. It looks like the issue is still being investigated and we may not receive an update until tomorrow. We will post an update as soon as we receive one ourselves.

Thanks for the update: Next question. If we're still in que on the 16th, will be just be kicked from it? As I recall thats the last day of transfers.

through all of the busy messages I managed to get my 50 alliance hunter into the pending mode for shu'halo, but when I try my 60 shaman from the same realm I get the same usual
"en_batch_processing_disabled" message, any news more about this and why it's still happening?

This is still a result of the queue filling up. As players continue to successfully have their transfers completed, the service will allow more to enter. Since many players are still trying to enter the queue, this error may be received intermittently for some. Keep trying folks! You're very kind to work with us through this issue! ; )

Question, does the free char move use up your paid-transfer as well? Or can you still pay for a transfer later for that char if you want to switch a server again?

Free realm transfers and Paid Character Transfers rely upon different systems; the cooldown for one does not affect the other. :)

To keep you folks apprised of the situation, our database administrators and developers are currently in the process of putting the free transfer service through a series of diagnostics in their continuing efforts to identify any issues that may be impeding transfers, determine the underlying cause for them, and devise an appropriate resolution to ensure that the service runs smoothly. We'll provide updates as they arise. :)

The Last WORTHLESS update on the front page of this WORTHLESS thread which the WORTHLESS CMs MAKE us post on was almost 24 hours ago ... Paid transfers say 10 hours. Blizzard has nothing of actual value to say?

My recent update (on page 32) is still the most up-to-date information we have regarding the current status of free character transfers. To wit:

So now I ... and or others ... have to search a 32 page thread, that they have to fish out of a sea of meaningless and demeaning blue posts to get information on character transfers?

That is the definition of poor customer service.

You can use the little "Blizz" arrows on our posts to jump from one Blue reply to the next, Jazz, which shouldn't make it too hard. :)

Please understand, that this information is clearly not enough. Its been an additional day since this information was posted. We need to know what the result of these diagnostics were or at the very least WHY it is impossible to "unlock" the accounts that cannot cancel and attempt to requeue, since the transfer system seems to be majorily [Last-in, First-out].

The diagnostics have not yet concluded, and thus no results are available to offer; our database administrators are still hard at work, however, and their efforts are working toward a global resolution for the matter, rather than addressing individual accounts. We shall keep you apprised. :)

I work in the gaming industry. If I ever came with "just be patient" as my sole answer to a problem that has gone on for days, I would be cleaning out my desk that afternoon.

As you appear to be confused, Felesar, allow me to dispel your misconception: Neither I, nor the other moderators of this forum, have any direct involvement in the steps currently being taken to investigate potential issues with the free transfer service. We are advising players to be patient because we are still awaiting the results of the research being done into the matter; that is not our "answer" to the issue itself. Capisce? :)

Don't forget balancing classes, maintaining realm stability, creating in-game art, and addressing account-related issues. Blue does it all. :P
