Give everyone the Dark Portal Tabard

Blizzard,

Just give everyone who goes to the portal to get the quest the stupid tabard. You have a situation where there are 200 Alliance and Horde spamming AE spells at the portal and it is impossible to kill the so called "invaders" because they are tagged and dead in .2 seconds.

This is a lousy way to have a dark portal opening event.

I asked for a group in the area and completed it in about 10 minutes. It's probably going to be tough solo, but getting in a group isn't much harder than asking or inviting people to yours. Also keep in mind that the event is going to be around until the release of the expansion, so everyone's going to have plenty of time to get one.

PVE or PVP server, and horde:alliance ratio? Right now there's 40 horde in blasted lands and probably 150+ allies that I can see. Not like I can even get remotely close to the portal.

PvP. I don't have the horde to alliance ration for you and no, I'm not saying which realm. ;)

Well, it's now official. CM's main characters are on alliance.

Good luck trying to compelte that in 10 minutes if you're horde on Proudmoore.

When I replied, it was in question to "now do it on a Horde character" that was addressed to Drysc. I answered saying I had. I was on a Horde character when I did it. I by no means believe my experience is the same as anyone elses. This thread is evidence that some players on the Alliance side are having an easy time because their side is locking up the portal and some on the Horde side are having an easy time because their side is locking up the portal.

The event will be running until the release of the Burning Crusade, which gives everyone plenty of time to do it should they choose. There will be more to the event than the tabard quest at the portal. Kruul is on the loose and I don't think people want to miss tracking him down for the very good of Azeroth.

BTW, we CMs do NOT have any special priviledges in the game or use any GM powers in the game. We play the same as anyone else. I also managed to solo the quest with a non-AoE character as a Horde.
