150 Mount Achievement Update

The last time we had a mount achievement, Mountain of Mounts, was during Wrath of the Lich King...specifically patch 3.0.8. That's January 20th, 2009 in case you forgot.

I recognize that a good number of people do not have 100 mounts, but with account wide mounts and all the new ones being added in Mists, getting 100 is going to be easily obtained. Now is the time to add a 150 mount achievement (and 200) for those who have been busy grinding obscure reps in obscure places for nearly 3 years.

The fact is, mount collectors have been collecting more and more mounts beyond the 100 in anticipation of an updated achievement and throughout all of Cata, and we were disappointed. We had some cool mounts and amazing models introduced, but no meta mounts like they have meta pets (Celestial Dragon).

So I asked Zarhym about adding a 150 mount achievement and got the following reply on Twitter: @WarcraftLounge Thanks for reminding me to look into that! Need to find a good thread to reply to...

I've discussed this a bit with Cory Stockton (Mumper). There won't be a new mount achievement with the launch of Mists of Pandaria, though we'll consider adding one in patch 5.1. We agree that it's probably time to set a new bar for mount collectors. ;)
