Why can't CM text be dark red?

It only makes sense since it's one of the most regal colors.

While I am personally partial to red, we often refer to our blue as Blizzard blue. Besides, don't you feel soothed by the cerulean text? It's like a wave of cool on a hot summer day.

Also, I've usually seen purple referred to as the color associated with royalty more than red. (Depending on the culture.) I like purple too, but blue suits just fine. ;)

I feel that red would more readily convey a message of impending doom and suffering to the reader, inspiring the proper level of terror.

Oh sure. it's definitely more direct, but there is a certain subtlety to blue that can be deceptive. You never know just how deep it goes or how very cold it can be. ;)

Candle flames sometimes create shadow as much as cast light. It's always wise to remember this. ;)
